Das 17. Internationale Videofestival Bochum
Herzlich willkommen!
Alles neu macht bekanntlich der Mai und daher pünktlich zum Frühsommer, eine frische, redesignte Homepage!
Wird auch langsam Zeit, denn das Festival geht in seine nächste Runde und feiert in diesem Jahr bereits seinen 17. Geburtstag.
Vom 14.-16. Juni präsentieren wir in gewohnt betoneskem Ambiente an der Ruhr-Universität Bochum wieder eine Auswahl aktueller Videokunst, von narrativ bis experimentell, Sets international bekannter VJ-Gruppen sowie ein vielseitiges Rahmenprogramm mit Vorträgen, Workshops und einem Gastfestival. Vor allem freuen wir uns darüber, dem Festivalnamen alle Ehre zu machen und wieder zahlreiche ausländische Beiträge zeigen zu können.
Die Gäste erwartet neben drei spannenden Tagen außerdem ein Nachtprogramm, das seinesgleichen sucht. Auf drei Parties in unterschiedlichen Locations sorgen DJs elektronischer Musik für Stimmung und beim Festival vertretene VJs können außerhalb des Contestes in heimeliger Clubatmosphäre ihr Können unter Beweis stellen.
Das Videofestival versteht sich als Plattform für alle, die sich mit videotechnisch hergestellten Bewegtbildern beschäftigen und will ein Forum sein für Videokünstler, -Aktivisten, - Dokumentaristen, -Theoretiker und alle, die einfach gern Videos gucken.

Welcome to the 17th International Videofestival Bochum
The merry month of May creates everything afresh, and bang on springtime we bring you our fresh and relaunched homepage. And about time, too, as the Videofestival is currently entering a new exciting round, having now reached its 17th anniversary. From June 14th - 16th, in the familiar concrete ambient of the Ruhr-University Bochum, we once again present a selection of the latest in video art, from narrative to experimental, sets by internationally renowned VJ acts as well as a multi-varied supporting programme, comprised of lectures, workshops and a guest festival. We are particularly proud of living up to the festival's name by screening a wealth of international contributions. In addition to three thrilling days, an unparalleled late-night programme awaits our guests. At three parties in three different locations, DJs create the right vibes with electronic beats, and VJs participating in the festival have the chance to prove their skills in homey club atmosphere.
The Videofestival considers itself a platform for enthusiasts of video-esque moving pictures and wishes to establish itself as a forum for video artists, activists, documentarists, theorists and each and every one who simply enjoy watching videos.
